Vitamins and Sodium

OK ladies.

The exercise with the spreadsheet, however nerdy you want to call it, actually did its job.  We now know where there are big deficiencies and can take care of those pretty quickly.  Nat, u need the vitamin.  Ang, you need less processed foods, which contain a huge amount sodium.  And FYI, stay away from Soy sauce if you can - it's like liquid salt.

Nat, your house is important, and a leaky roof is actually a very valid excuse for not working out.  Not so much for eating poorly, but definitely for working out.

You want to know the one big thing that I'm seeing from you guys?  You're trying.  You're trying to not make excuses, you're trying to do what's right, you're trying....and that's great.  The one big negative that I'm seeing?  You're not thinking ahead enough with your food to plan for contingencies.  You know, or even don't know, that you're going to have a crazy day?  Then take your food with you where you go.  When you're at the store, and you know that you're gonna want to eat an apple, let's say, buy 4 of them so that you have them and can go to them when things get a little nuts.  Don't rely on the cafeteria because it's fast and easy (Nat, you're finding out how 'great' the cafe is).  Don't rely on Starbucks coffee to get you through a snack Ang.  You guys are great employees of a Fortune 20 company - you can certainly plan out a little what you're going to eat and prepare properly for that.

I don't have to make you guys understand how important it is to eat well and exercise.  You already know that, and so we've passed the point where I need to talk about that.  We just need to get you guys to start practicing those things with the eating and exercising that will get you into the healthy shape that you want.

My eating yesterday was same as most days, with lunch a turkey wheat wrap with tomatoes and cheese and dinner a grilled chicken kabob with onions and zucchini.  All the snacks remained the same.

You guys are pressing through the hard process of actually changing habits that have been in place for a while.  It's difficult I know.  But it's doable, and you'll be better for it in the end.

OK, I'm actually going on vacation now.  I'll write in here most likely over the next few days, but at work you will not find me.

Adios for now!

P.S.  Nat - GREAT reference to LA Gears :)  Those things were terrible!
